Singapore will recruit 180 Indian doctors to improve healthcare; Details here

The holding company of Singapore’s public healthcare entities including the National University Health System, National Healthcare Group, MOH Holdings (MOHH) is recruiting doctors from abroad to ease the needs of its health sector.

“These doctors will be allowed to conditionally register ‘clinical practice’ (for treatment) under strict rules,” the agency said.

According to the company, “Preference is given to local people graduating from medical schools recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.”

Singapore plans to recruit 180 junior doctors from India over the next three years. The company said doctors are being recruited not only from India but also from Australia and the UK.

According to the news, the target is to recruit 60 medical officers from India every year from 2022 to 2024 under the tender that ended on October 10. This project is also likely to be extended till 2025. To know about the current openings Click Here.

MAHH said it recruits about 700 junior doctors every year. Of these, 90 percent are Singaporeans who either attended medical schools in Singapore or returned home after graduating from accredited medical schools abroad.

According to the company, they are looking for people who have graduated from a medical school listed in the Medical Registration Act. The shortage of doctors in the country has increased in the last few years.
