Role Overview
The Gynecologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions related to the female reproductive system, including pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. The role involves both medical and surgical interventions, preventive care, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine gynecological examinations (Pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams).
- Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, infertility, infections, and menopause.
- Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to expectant mothers.
- Perform deliveries (normal and cesarean) and manage obstetric emergencies.
- Conduct gynecological surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, laparoscopy).
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans for reproductive health issues.
- Educate patients on family planning, contraception, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree and MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical license to practice.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in obstetrics and gynecology (freshers with residency experience may apply).
